New members join the group at all times of the year and are generally considered on a 'date of application' basis, the main exception being when a parent of the applicant offers to be a Leader within the Group.
To apply to join please make an enquiry about availability (see below). If we have a place you will be invited along for a free trial. The membership form will be sent to you as a link via email.
Fees are paid annually or pro-rata per quarter. The fees include a Scouts Victoria Registration Fee which covers insurance and Scoutsictoria running costs and a group cost which goes towards equipment, maintenance of the hall, sundry consumables, and utility bills.
The annual membership fee is $465 for Joeys - Venturers / $415 for Rovers for the period from 1 April 2026 - 31 March 2027. Pro rata fees apply for joining later in the year, where fees are reduced by 25% per quarter.
Send an email to groupleader@2ndglenwaverley.org if you would like to find out more about joining. Please include the name and date of birth of prospective youth members.
No waiting list for any sections currently.
Potential new members are invited to come and try scouting at prearrange times - no drop-ins please.
Before you come along, please fill in and print out the Personal Information Record from Scouts Victoria and bring it with you to the Scout Hall on your first night. (Please do not sent via email).
The free trial includes three regular meetings, after this we will ask you to join as a member.
Scouts is a volunteer organisation and it is an expectation that all parents will be involved with running the Group. There are many opportunities to help out including joining the committee, becoming a Leader, attending working bees, fundraising, BBQs etc.
Leaders are usually parents just like you, they have full-time jobs and busy family lives and without volunteer Leaders, we can't run a scout group. If you are interested in volunteering to be a Leader, please contact groupleader@2ndglenwaverley.org
